Wheee, I don't know if you know but I've been on a huge Merlin binge recently (BBC's Merlin, that is, which adheres very, very little to the original Arthurian legends for those unfamiliar.) It is ridiculously pretty with lots of slashy subtext. The tone of the show is generally lighthearted, and has very little to do with this picture in which I reimagine Arthur and Merlin destroying Albia on a whim.

Sketched in TegakiE, finished in photoshop.

This reminds me of that one book. I can't recall which, but it had something to do with Merlin actually being part of Arthur, and they went around and pwnt things. >>;

The lighting and the silloettes of this are just gorgeous.

Also, you're like the second person on my flist who's mentioned Merlin. Perhaps I should look into that : D

xDDD That does sound cool. There are several references in this about their destinies being entwined... and stuff. THey haven't gotten to the point of pwning things together in the show, but I hope they do soon ;-;

Yes, I know! I'm afraid I'm not in the habit of drawing entire scenes with full backgrounds - it was actually what this picture was meant to remedy, actually. Too much recent crap with white backgrounds.

It really is a cute show, I dunno if it's for everyone though. I think some of us might be in it solely for the slashy bits.
